Office Foundation Day

Dearest reader, I am super excited about this entry, and you will too.

One of the major things life taught us, using the COVID-19 pandemic, no matter how you want to hide or shy away from it, the glaring truth was value for your fellow man. Life is a luxury. No success story can actually say that they became all that they did on the back of their own prowess. We are stories that are co-authored by a variety of people who wander into our lives at certain points of our existence.

Suddenly, things that did not use to matter began to. Sharing a bus with people, the smell of baked food, seeing colleagues daily, seeing the bare faces of our neighbours and so on. All of a sudden, they became moments to be treasured.

Economies crumbled. Markets were emptied. Businesses died. Panic spread throughout the world. News of death filtered through the television and social media screens. Families were holed up from the outside world. Like squirrels, we stored our nuts and nibbled at them, knowing that to lavish is foolery while hoping that before our store is dry, before we will need supplies, the world would have come back to normal.

Sadly, even restocked supplies finished, and the world was still “abnormal”.

Surviving a pandemic is not easy, I must say. The strain on the mind, the sudden adaptation, curfews, gloves and face masks and so on. We are lucky to have made it this far, still holding on to sanity or a semblance of it.

Yet, no one can say they survived on the strength of their strict diligence to the regulations that have been spelt out. Time and time again, humanity shone through. The selfless input of health workers, putting their lives in danger to ensure life carried on. Music played from balconies streamed all over the world, reminding us of what once was and assuring us that what is would surely pass, dragging people from the brink of depression. The restart of sporting activities, giving people something to cheer and deliberate upon, away from the gloom and doom constantly repeated via news outlets. Teachers put in the effort, devising means to ensure that their students do not get lost in the mix. Other examples abound. Heroes, not in costumes, put in their quota to ensure that life survives.

It was in the midst of all these that Brand patron was birth, so I cannot forget or overlook your influence in bringing this dream to fruition.

I am often asked about my Tagline, “Your Business Partner”. I believe we are partners for the success of your business.

My business partners consist of my clients, mentors, friends, and family who have stuck with me long before Day One, constantly trusting. People who would be easily overlooked by others naturally. Social media contacts, buddies from school and so on. People who consciously, or without their knowledge and/or intent, have continued to spur me on.

See how time has flown. Here we are, heading into a year of doing business together. The little step that was taken in what looks like yesterday, threading gingerly, not knowing the ropes fully, falling, but helped back again. Almost stopping sometimes, but fighting through my demons, making sure I do not disappoint the trust that you have reposed in me.

This is me coming to show my unabashed gratefulness. I would like to let you know that you have been a fantastic business partner. This is an opportunity for me to convey my sincere thanks for bearing with me and staying by my side through all my successes and failures.

I have had partners who were not as loyal as you. People who got tired of trusting and moved on. During the challenging phases, at the inception, they all abandoned me. I do not blame them though. It is not easy believing in something that looked as bleak as it did at the time.

Then, there were partners whose faith never wavered, even before Day One. Sometimes, they did not even totally understand the vision, but they were dogged in their belief. Resolutely backing me up in my failures and challenging my successes, making sure I am not resting on my oars, or sucked up in self-pity, licking my wounds. The success of my business would not have been possible without your sincere efforts, timely interventions, and quick calculations.

There were also others who have tagged along in the way. You have seen some potential and you have thought us good enough to come to join our train. To you, we owe our deepest gratitude. It is essential to get appraised by new people along the way, since the old might get used to the routine and even be a little biased. Thank you for your fresh insight.

My management is also well respected by my clients. This is not an easy feat and I do not take it for granted. My clients have been kind to me and my management team, with little to no squabbles during our fora. I am grateful to have such great partners as you.

Lastly, to those who are mulling over the idea of taking us up, I am grateful. In the multitude out there, you have sieved through and found us to be a workable option. Regardless of what your decision finally amounts to, I am grateful that you see us.

I would like to let you know that I respect you and that you are such an inspiration to me.

Once again, I would like to thank you for being a fantastic partner to work with. Together, I hope we can accomplish all future endeavors.
